Yes he was. I think about him a lot. I was a young and in Los Angeles the same time Love was starting out there. I think I know how he felt when he wrote some of those lyrics. We used to talk about things being "plastic", like his "plastic Nancy, she's so fancy". He had a bit of money from music and lived up in that big ramshackle palace in the hills and took a lot of acid and mushrooms, etc. Much preferred contact with his animals than downtown where it "never failed to bring him down." I think he must have been a lot stronger than he seemed to make it to 61. Beautiful men with tambourines, life would be much duller without them, don't you agree?
