I believe that there must be other living organisms somewhere out there... What's your opinion?

Yes,it would be pompous to think we are the `only` ones,if you can watch the movie `Contact` with Jodie Foster, the very beginning,it gives a view of the Universe, its very well done,it is possible.

* Space Oddity by david Bowie begins playing. . . * There's a field of Astronomy that studies what's called the "large scale structure" of the universe. The following are the facts that have been observed so far: Our solar system is situated in one of the spiral arms of the Milky Way Galaxy called the Orion Arm at a distance that is about half of its length extending out from the galaxies center. Our sun is but one of the 100,000,000,000 (one hundred billion) other stars in our single galaxy. The Milky Way Galaxy is sister to another spiral galaxy called Andromeda that also contains 100 billion stars. The Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies are the two largest galaxies in a group of about 36 galaxies that are clustered together in whats called the Local Group. Our Local Group is but one of about 100 other clustered groups of galaxies - all of which, are themselves clustered on a much larger scale into what is called "The Virgo Supercluster". The Virgo Supercluster is probably one of an as yet indefinite number of other superclusters that form what is hypothesized to be a "Hypercluster" of galaxies. Regardless of how galaxies are clustered throughout all of space, it is estimated that the total number of other individual galaxies could be somewheres around 500 billion! So. . . thats 500 billion galaxies out there and they each contain about 100 billion stars (suns). I am always humbled whenever I go through this exercise and a line from the movie Contact (starring Jodie Foster) comes to mind. When Jodie's character was a cute little girl ("sparks"), she asked her daddy this same question, "do you think there's other life out there in the universe?". Her father responded by saying quite simply, "well sparks, if there isn't, that sure is a lot of wasted space."
