I have heard that cannabis is legal in some states of the USA if it is prescribed for medical use. I'm curious; what exactly would it be used for medically? Anything particular? Please tell me if you know.

Hi Bobin, I don`t know all the diseases, but I had a frontrow scene with a EX of mine that had developed Crohn`s disease and it helped her alot, man that disease really hurts an individual i never seen so much pain, but a joint helped her,it helped her eat, helped her stomach/nausea.God I wish the government would finally give the OK to Cannabis as medicine, there are so many people suffering and they don`t have a joint to curve the pain its got nothing to do with getting high, all I know is when she smoked it she had no pain, she ate if not she was in pain,in the washroom and loosing weight,it was hard seeing a person you care about in pain and wither away,,,case closed...

What is Crohns disease, Pledm? My old man suffers with massive stomach problems, and has for the past 8 years, and they can't figure out what it is? I think that marijauna should be legal for medical use, just like it is legal for so many other drugs to be used by medical patients. If it helps make your life better while you are going through severe pain, then I give my blessing to it being used to help a chronic pain sufferer. Chronic pain sucks really bad, and anything to make life more bearable is a good thing.

Hi deb, All I know is what I went through with my ex but for her Crohns disease is an inflamation of the digestive tract in her case the bowels, which is pure hell if you have it,you can`t eat, your in the washroom all day, then you lose weight, your dehydrated, your in constant stomach pain, etc.its usually a bowel disease but it can be other things in the digestive area its a big area, like ulcerative colitis. Deb if your concerned look up Crohn`s on the web or branch out to other areas dealing with that area,,so you can find stuff out or have something to ask the doctor, every individual is in someways different, all i know is my ex went through hell and she still is.

That sounds quite like what my old man is going through! Except he isn't in the bathroom all day. Everything else sounds the same though. They still can't tell what is wrong with him. I will tell him about this disease so they can check and make sure that he doesn't have it. Thanks a lot Pledm.

He's doing ok right now. He goes in and out of being sick. The doctors are trying to make him go to see some specialists again, for more tests. But I don't think that he has made an appointment yet. I know it is hard to go through the tests, so I am not going to nag at him. Plus, since his father died of stomach cancer, I am sure that he is a little bit scared that they might find something like that. His Dad was only 60 when he was suddenly diagnosed with stomach cancer, and died about 8 weeks afterwards. So Dean is more leery of the stomach problems because of that.

Yes, it is hard not knowing what is causing the horrendous stomach pain that he goes through. But I would think if it was cancer, they would have found it by now. It has been over 8 years now that he has been going through it. He has all but lost his appetite, because he is so scared that whatever he eats is going to make him sick! It is very frustrating to me, because I don't think it has anything at all to do with what he eats. He is 5'10" tall and only weighs about 135, so he is skin and bones. The only thing that gives him any sort of appetite at all is cannibus, if you want to know the truth. I used to be all mad at him for smoking it before he got so sick. Now it makes him eat, so I am not against it anymore. Plus, when he is sick, it seems to ease the pain. I just wish that he would go and get medically certified. That way he and I wouldn't have to worry about him being charged with having an illegal substance. It is the only thing that I can think of that will give him an appetite.
